Since 2015 Julie’s work has been accepted for Mini Print International de Cadaquès a long running exhibition for printmaking and its tendencies. Now in its 41st year the exhibition brings together small works of no more
10 x 10 cm from over 640 artists worldwide. The exhibition is held during the summer at the Gallery Taller Fort in the beautiful town of Cadaquès on the Northeast coast of Catalunya, Spain. Cadaquès has been, and still is, a huge draw to many artists for many years, Salvador Dali famously made it his home for much of his life and Picasso, Miro and the poet Frederico Garcia Lorca, among many others spent time there.
Julie first visited and fell in love with Cadaquès in 1997 and has returned many times since. Participating in Mini Print was the first very small step in getting her work recognised in the town. Over the years her work has been well received and sold well and many times she was asked by the organisers to send more pieces for the exhibition as it tours to Pineda, just north of Barcelona and then to Bages on the coast of the Languedoc Roussillon region of France.
In the summer of 2021 she was delighted ( and astounded) to receive the news that her piece The Moon and the Poet had been selected as one of the six award winners in the 41st edition of the exhibition! Plus all of the work she sent has been sold and again they needed more.
The win gave Julie a solo show of 30 of her Mininprint works at the Taller Fort Gallery in Cadaquès in the summer. of 2022 She was also one of the judges for the 2022 exhibition. Not only did she sell a number of pieces at her solo show she
also took the opportunity to spend a month in Cadaquès, filling a number of sketchbooks with drawings and ideas from the mountains, rocks, pebbles, sea and surroundings. These have fed into her work since.
